It feels good to be back in the swing of fall. There’s a glut of new shows on my DVR to catch up on.
I’m behind on my new fall viewing because I had to binge the final season of Breaking Bad…My back is sore from sitting for so long but totally worth it! As I dive into my collection of freshman shows, I’m curious what others think about some of the new stuff out there. Please, no spoilers tho…I want to slam through the first three weeks over the coming weekend.
What else? We launched our season with our annual State of the Industry panel and a great panel it was! Ted Harbert, Tim Spengler, Michael Lombardo, John Landgraf and Andy Forssell… Very interesting thoughts on our business from five very different viewpoints. If you missed it you can stream it on demand at HRTS.ORG… Highly recommended.
Another exciting thing for fall is the organization announced our newly elected leadership team. I’m looking forward to working with newly installed President Bela Bajaria, VP Adam Berkowitz, Secretary Ian Moffitt and returning Treasurer Martha Henderson. Our first meetings have been infused with a fresh energy and commitment to quality and import that will be evident in the luncheons and other activities we present in the coming months.
This new energy is also extending to our membership. I’m excited to see new additions to our Corporate membership ranks with companies as diverse as Bento Box, Televisa, Entertainment One, Kaplan Stahler and Fox Rothschild. Our Senior and junior level memberships are growing and active and it looks like we can expect this trend to continue well into 2014!
All in all it is a good time to be part of HRTS. We are a strong, thriving, constantly evolving and growing organization that is and always will be the one place where industry leaders can gather together to network and discuss issues important to our business success. I’m looking forward to an exciting and thought provoking 2013-2014 HRTS season…and even more so to hunkering down this weekend to enjoy me some new shows… See you at the next luncheon!
