Creating Marketable Characters & Stories

Creating Marketable Characters & Stories – panel

It’s been a whirlwind beginning to the 2011-2012 season of JHRTS. In June we welcomed new members to the Board and Stephen Cousineau and myself were elected as the new Co-Presidents. We’re thrilled to serve in this capacity and look forward to an exciting year of events with some of the most prominent names in the industry. So far we’ve hosted two roundtables and two panels, and the board is busy planning many more panels, roundtables, charity events, and we’re already gearing up for our annual holiday party.

In June/July we hosted roundtables with Pearlena Igbokwe, SVP Showtime, and Kevin Beggs, President Lionsgate Television. Both roundtables were a great success and gave our members the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the most respected names in the industry. In August we partnered with ITVFest to host a pair of panels “Creating Marketable Characters & Stories“ and “Asylum The Series: Making the network jump from the web to BET“.
Our upcoming events will see the return of some of JHRTS’s most prominent alumni, will delve into the exciting world of International Television, and will give members an opportunity to give back to our communities by reading books to school children. In the social event arena, an Emmy Awards viewing party is in the works. Official announcements/details to be announced soon!
Here’s to a great year!
