On January 30th, JHRTS Los Angeles hosted their first ever Branded Entertainment panel. Among the group of panelists were Alex Andujar, Media & Promotions Director of Domestic Theatrical Marketing at Sony Pictures Entertainment; Juliette Senk, Associate Director of Content & Experiences at Universal McCann; and Kristin Pellicane, Senior Manager of Integrated Marketing at ABC Television Network. Leading the conversation was Jared Hoffman, Senior Vice President of Video Programming at Defy Media. Hoffman kicked off the conversation by introducing the audience to some key definitions in the realm of branded entertainment. The group shared their unique perspectives on the topic and explained how media agencies, content producers, networks, and brands all work together to create original, strategic and organic ways to marry brands with content for both scripted and unscripted programming. The open-format of the panel allowed for many questions throughout this engaging hour, making this a very educational session for all those in attendance.
