Mark Korman

Marc Korman is a Partner at William Morris Endeavor. I recently had a chance to interview Marc to discuss buyers, vertical integration and Chicago.

Q: Can you tell us about your background and what made you want to work in Hollywood?

I was a public defender in Chicago. I became disenchanted with the law and decided I wanted to make a change. I had been a theater minor in college and did Second City for fun in Chicago.

Q: How did you first get involved with the HRTS?

I really wanted to be involved so I asked Bela if I could take Sean’s position.

Q: What is a favorite memory from your career thus far?

Joining Endeavor.

Q: How has the business changed since the day you signed your first client?

Vertical integration has really changed the business. And there are so many more buyers now (streaming, premium cable, basic cable, etc).

Q: How do you identify someone with the potential for a long career?

Great writing…period.

Q: What’s the best thing about being an agent? Worst?

Best thing is watching something go from the idea stage to seeing it realized and put on the air. Worst is delivering disappointing news.

Q: How do you see the business changing over the next few years?

More buyers, more platforms and distribution outlets.
