The company produces the global hits “Big Brother,” “Wipeout,” “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, “Love in the Wild” and “Jerseylicious.” This fall, Endemol USA will launch its first syndicated daytime talk show, “The Steve Harvey Show.” Additionally, Endemol USA specializes in multi-platform programming, including facebook games “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” “Deal or No Deal” and “Kobe’s Basketball Academy” as well as “XARM FU,” a mobile game for iPhone and “O Story Story,” a series of kids interactive picture books for tablet devices. Endemol USA has also acquired a number of successful production companies over the last few years including True Entertainment, Original Media, 51 Minds and Authentic Entertainment.
Most recently Endemol USA launched Endemol Studios, a scripted television studio operation to develop and produce US programming for global exploitation across all platforms. Endemol Studios is resourced to finance the development of projects; deficit-finance the production of pilots and series; and to oversee all related activities. The launch of Endemol Studios capitalizes on Endemol’s successes in US scripted television to date, including AMC’s series order of the Endemol USA-developed series “Hell on Wheels,” which became the network’s second highest rated show in history and it’s second season will premiere this fall, as well as the rights acquisition of TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland,” “Happily Divorced” and “The Exes,” TNT’s “Leverage”, The Hub’s “The Haunting Hour” in the U.S. and Showcase’s “Endgame” in Canada. Endemol Studios has also recently sold the pilot “Low Winter Sun” to AMC and currently developing a pilot “Red Widow” for ABC Studios.
Endemol USA is a division of the Endemol Group, a leading international content developer, producer and distributor of television and online programming. The company, headquartered in the Netherlands and the UK, has subsidiaries and joint ventures in 26 countries, including the major European markets, the U.S., South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Australia. Endemol is owned by a consortium consisting of Goldman Sachs Capital Partners, Mediaset Group, and Cyrte Group.

David Goldberg

David Goldberg was named to his position in January 2009 after having served as President and CEO of Endemol USA over the previous eight years. Goldberg built Endemol USA virtually from the ground up, launching the company in 2000 and quickly establishing Endemol as one of the leading independent production companies in the U.S. In his role as chairman, he oversees all business and production in the Canadian and Mexican markets, in addition to remaining the day-to-day head of operations for Endemol USA.
The company’s many successes include the Emmy Award-winning series “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” as well as “Big Brother,” “Wipeout,” “Jerseylicious” and “Love in the Wild.” NBC’s “Deal or No Deal,” “1 vs. 100” and “Fear Factor” have also been a part of the company’s outstanding franchises from the beginning.
Upcoming shows this summer include “Chicagolicious,” the spin-off to the hit series “Jerseylicious” and Endemol’s first syndicated daytime talk show “The Steve Harvey Show.”
Extending beyond the world of reality programming, Goldberg has brought a scripted division to the company, Endemol Studios, which launched it’s first scripted show “Hell on Wheels” to AMC, becoming the 2nd highest rated show in network history. The show will return this fall for its sophomore season. In addition, the scripted studio has sold another pilot “Low Winter Sun,” to AMC and currently developing a pilot “Red Widow” for ABC Studios.
Additionally, the company continues to deliver new content to consumers through digital media — the first being an adaptation of Endemol’s popular TV Shows “Deal or No Deal” and “1 vs. 100” into mobile and social media games and have produced successful web series “Married on MySpace 1 & 2,” “Coupon Mom,” “Vidas Cruzadas” and “MLB (Major League Baseball) Fan Cave.” The digital team continues to build their multi-platform programming porfolio with facebook games for “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” “Deal or No Deal” and “Kobe Bryant’s Basketball Academy,” as well as “XARM FU,” a mobile game for iPhone and “O Story Story,” a series of interactive kids picture books for tablet devices.
Goldberg has also acquired a handful of successful production companies for the Endemol USA brand, expanding Endemol’s reach into the world of comedy, music and independent feature films. These include 51 Minds Entertainment (“The Surreal Life,” “Rock of Love”), Original Media (“Half Nelson,” “The Squid and the Whale” and “The Philanthropist”), True Entertainment (“The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “A Baby Story,” “Married Away”), and most recently Authentic Entertainment (“Ace of Cakes,” “Toddlers & Tiaras”).
Prior to launching Endemol USA, Goldberg served as a programming and development executive at the Time Warner television unit Telepictures and as a development executive for Quincy Jones/David Salzman Entertainment.
Born and raised in New Canaan, Conn., he lives in Los Angeles, California.
