Brittany Micek is the founder and lead organizer of Meditating for Black Lives, a grassroots organization focused on bringing the principles and practices of various meditation traditions to heal the collective community conscious from oppression. She’s a resident of Bed Stuy, Brooklyn and is originally from San Diego, California.

Rita Phetmixay (she/they/boo) is a 2nd generation Lao Isaan American femme/womxn, politicized healing practitioner, social entrepreneur, independent audio producer, and an award-winning filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. Rita’s work is inspired by her own traumatic experiences of overcoming domestic/sexual violence, fueling her to address the complex issues of refugee familial intergenerational trauma + healing + emotional resilience in her podcast and consulting platform: Healing Out Lao’d.
