JIWON LEE

Born in Korea, raised in Malaysia and China, and currently based in Los Angeles, Jiwon Lee is a transnational Korean writer and director. She is best known for writing and directing Call for Cassie, winner of ‘Best Female Director’ at the Annual Indie Short Fest 2024, which has also been screened at the LA Asian Film Festival, Film in Focus, Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase, and more.
Jiwon most recently worked as the showrunner’s assistant for the popular Netflix series XO, Kitty’s Season 2 and prior to that, worked as a development intern at Blumhouse and Atomic Monster.
She also freelances as an industry translator, having previously worked for global auteur Park Chan-wook on his Oscar campaign for Decision to Leave, and most recently translating for actor Song Kang-ho at the Academy Museum. Jiwon is a recent graduate of the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.
