New York, New York: Introducing JHRTS-NY

It has been an exciting autumn for the founding board members of JHRTS’ new East Coast chapter!

The JHRTS-NY board has spent the past few months getting to know each other and strategizing the launch of this great organization in New York.  We are a diverse group, and with our varied contacts we hope to attract a diverse membership to JHRTS-NY.  I am pleased to introduce my fellow board members to the HRTS community at-large:

Scott Swiontek, The Gersh Agency – Co-Vice President

Sasha Silver, HBO – Co-Vice President

Max Grossman, ICM – Treasurer

Jay Barbeau, CAA – Secretary

Jill Lubochinski, NBC-Universal – Event Director

The six of us have been busy planning our inaugural event, which we hope to be a great introduction to JHRTS for New York’s junior entertainment executives.

On Wednesday, December 1st, we are excited to host our first panel event, “A Conversation with Doug Herzog.”  Mr. Herzog, President of MTV Networks Entertainment Group, will be joined on the stage by our moderator Jon Rosen, who is head of WME’s East Coast Television Department and WME’s Branded Lifestyle Group.  Having broad oversight of MTV’s adult-focused programming (including ultimate responsibility for Comedy Central, Spike, and TV Land), Mr. Herzog’s experience and insights will surely be enlightening for those in attendance.  If you’re in New York on December 1st, we hope you’ll join us!  You can check out the event invitation at www.jhrts.com.

The New York board would also love to hear from you, so feel free to reach us at jhrts-ny-info@hrts.org with any comments, suggestions, or questions.
