HRTS (Hollywood Radio & TV Society) is the entertainment industry’s premier information and networking forum. Chartered since 1947, the HRTS gathers together leading industry executives and companies representing broadcast and cable networks, studios, talent and management agencies, producers, legal and financial firms, new media companies and more to address issues that are relevant to the ongoing success and future of our business. Current HRTS membership represents over 700 executives and 48 leading companies from across the entire industry landscape.
Our primary activity, the HRTS Newsmaker Luncheon Series, presents six plus events per year featuring panels that include the presidents of the major broadcast networks, leading cable networks, creators/executive producers of current hit shows, our annual State of the Industry panel and more. HRTS also presents special Newsmaker Events that have featured individual guests such as Michael Eisner, Ted Turner, Colin Powell, Hillary Clinton, Ronald Reagan, Al Gore, Leslie Moonves, Peter Chernin, Ted Koppel, Brian Williams, and others addressing broad industry topics as well as larger societal issues.
HRTS Newsmaker Luncheon attendance ranges from an average of over 500 to upwards of 1,000 key execs from across the full range of our industry. The average HRTS attendee is VP level and above and is responsible for the creation and development of entertainment properties for distribution across broadcast, cable, satellite, and the ever-evolving world of digital and new media spaces.
Due to the industry specific content of the typical HRTS event, media coverage includes all of the major industry trade publications (Hollywood Reporter, Daily Variety, Broadcasting & Cable, etc.) the LA Times, as well as electronic media (ie: Access Hollywood, ET, Extra). Additionally, when a topic or speaker of national interest is presented, we see CNN, CSpan, major broadcast network news divisions, and wire services in attendance.
The HRTS is led by a volunteer board of directors representing senior level leaders and participating companies from across the spectrum of the entertainment business. Elected President of HRTS is Kevin Beggs, President, Programming & Production, Lionsgate Television. Executive Director of HRTS and Executive Producer of all HRTS events is Dave Ferrara.
HRTS members are the industry’s decision makers, it’s “best and brightest.” To be included is to be “in the room” with the individuals that chart the future course of the entertainment business.
